Wanderburg Loadout Checklist

Fill the lines, then drive. Empty lines are a wipe.

Loadout Checklist

Open this page next to the demo’s loadout screen. Wanderburg lets you pick a vehicle, a captain, crew, a starting module, and an artifact before you roll. People skip the thinking and then blame the steamroller. The checklist is the thinking.

Use captains, modules, crew and artifacts, and best builds to fill the blanks. Use controls for the bind line.

The sentence

Write one sentence that is the run.

Examples that work: “I ram twice and leave.” “I am an oven.” “I eat sheep and refuse to die.” “I kite with mortar and mines.”

Examples that fail: “I will see what the draft gives me.” “I bought everything.” “I am Dieter because the portrait is funny.”

If the sentence needs more than one “and,” it is already two builds. Pick one.

The four slots

Slot 1 (identity): ram / fire mage / mortar / barracks / shield-stomp.

Slot 2 (enabler): boost for ram, burn-spread support for fire, extra archers for lazy floors.

Slot 3 (escape or double): dash, teleporter, mines if you are hunted, a second gun only if the sentence still holds.

Slot 4 (the one people waste): boost if it is not already in slot 2. Escape if you are already huge. Not a random rare hammer.

Write the four names. If you cannot, you are not ready. Go back to getting started.

Captain, crew, artifact

Captain must serve the sentence. Dieter for ram. Vampire or Count for eating. Gold printer if this run is a shopping trip. Norbert if you are still in school.

Crew: repair for melee, gold-over-time for long loops, sheep gold only if you will actually farm flocks.

Artifact: second-chance while learning, burn-spread for ovens, melee-from-speed for rams, next-artifact-double only when you can see another chest. Empty is allowed.

Binds and flee rule

Write boost, ram, and the panic button. Confirm you did not bind boost to the same key you need for ram. Confirm click-to-move is not fighting WASD.

Write the flee rule before spawn: “If the silhouette is larger, I leave.” That sentence has saved more gold than any S-tier module. How to beat bosses is the long version.

After the run

Did the sentence survive contact with a vacuum castle? If yes, spend gold on that sentence. If no, do not buy a fifth portrait. Change one slot. The demo walkthrough spending plan still applies: learn, spend, identity.

When Early Access adds vehicles and desert legs on 8 September 2026, duplicate this checklist per biome. Grass ram is not sand ram. See biomes.

The health-stacking video in the middle of this page is a person choosing the same theme over and over. That is the checklist in motion. Copy the stubbornness.

Print it, screenshot it, or scribble it. The format does not matter. The empty lines do.

One extra line people skip: what you will buy if the run banks gold. Write the next shop purchase before spawn (“fire mage if I still lack area, repair crew if I died to chip”). That stops the post-run dopamine portrait grab. The captain tier list can wait until the sentence you already wrote is fully unlocked.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Wanderburg questions.

Do I need an artifact to use this checklist?

No. An empty artifact slot is a valid line. A relic you cannot explain is not.

Can I run two sentences at once?

Not in four slots. Mix ram and fire only if you know why. See best builds.

What if the draft refuses my plan?

Upgrade the buttons you have. A theme with three pieces beats a zoo with four names you just met.

Is this an official Randwerk tool?

No. It is a fan ritual. The shop UI is the official tool.
