Wanderburg Vehicles

Wheels today, more frames when Early Access opens the garage.

Vehicle Roster

A Wanderburg vehicle is not a car skin. It is the chassis your modules bolt onto: turning circle, mouth placement, how ridiculously large you can become. The demo almost always shows one starting wheeled keep. Trailers and interviews promise a wider garage for Early Access on 8 September 2026. This page keeps those two facts in separate drawers.

Read modules for the guns. Read how to grow your castle for the hitbox tax. Read biomes before you assume desert legs are a grasslands unlock.

The demo chassis

Public footage is a stone-and-timber keep on wheels (or treads, once you have grown ugly). You pick it on the loadout screen next to captain, crew, module, and artifact. Creators say the demo region is grasslands and the demo vehicle list is short: often a single player frame. If your client shows grey tiles, they are billboards, not a hidden craft menu.

In-run “vehicle upgrades” after a boss are not a new car. Playtest videos describe a pause after the first kill where you pick a growth option — more health, more fire, a bigger presence. That is the keep expanding, the same joke as the size lineup screenshot on this wiki. You do not garage-swap mid-map. You become the map.

Legs, treads, and trailer toys

Trailers show spider-leg locomotion and walking forts in sand. Randwerk’s desert overview is explicit: desert enemies ditch wheels and grow legs to deal with grinding floor. That is an enemy-read and a possible player module or frame. Until the shop sells it, do not write a grasslands spider-leg build guide. The module tier list already refuses to grade trailer-only toys.

Treads show up on oversized keeps in screenshots: steamroller bosses, ironclad silhouettes, pirate-ship broadsides. Your own keep can grow toward that look. Turning gets worse. Boost pays the tax. See controls.

The Early Access garage pitch

A Gamescom-era interview said the team wanted three player vehicles for the Early Access cut versus the one they were showing. Store copy talks about unlockable vehicles between runs, next to captains and artifacts. Treat “three” as an intention from that interview. On 8 September 2026, count the tiles on your loadout screen and believe that number.

Different frames should change the sentence you write on the loadout checklist. A long ram barge wants nitro. A legged desert frame may want mortar because the ram lane is a dune. Do not copy a grasslands ram-boost recipe onto a chassis you have not steered.

How bosses interact with frames

The first boss kill in tank-upgrade videos is the moment the keep is allowed to get thicker. That is why how to beat bosses and this page are siblings. If you never kill something your own size, you stay a cottage. If you kill too early, you become a buffet. Size is the vehicle.

Pirate-cannon captains who take extra incoming cannon damage become louder liabilities as the chassis grows: more profile, more shots eaten. Pair frame growth with a captain sentence from captains.

What to do before 8 September

Practise one chassis until turning is boring. Bank gold. Do not hoard a fantasy garage. The demo walkthrough is still the honest loop. When Early Access lists extra frames, come back here and we will name them without inventing a fourth.

The video in the middle of this page is a keep that keeps thickening after bosses. Watch the moment the silhouette changes. That moment is the vehicle system in the demo: growth, not a dealership.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Wanderburg questions.

How many vehicles are in the Wanderburg demo?

Public footage describes a single player chassis in most builds. Extra frames are an Early Access pitch.

Are spider legs a vehicle or a module?

Trailers show them as locomotion. Exact shop placement is not public. See modules and biomes.

Do I swap vehicles mid-run?

Demo reports describe in-run size-ups, not a mid-map garage. You pick a frame on the loadout screen.

Will Early Access really ship three vehicles?

That number came from a developer interview about their goal. Count the tiles on 8 September 2026.
